Designed by a bass player, for bass players.

Existing cabinets are all basically the same decades-old-design, often imported with low quality build and materials.

I knew I could do better. Much better.

Goals

Combining my own 30 year’s of audio engineering and playing experience with a survey of gigging and experienced bass players on TalkBass.com (Thank you guys & gals!!), the needs of bass players became quite clear:

01.

Balanced sound.

Imagine leaving your tone controls flat and fitting perfectly into the mix of the band! It took 2 years of prototyping to achieve this goal.

02.

Transportable.

Designs need to be thoughtful of the owner, aiding in lifting and moving. Everything you need to easily move the cabinet should be built-in.

03.

Dispersion.

No more laser-beam tweeters, hitting only the back of your legs. Sound must disperse. The drummer should hear you just as well as the audience.

04.

Quality.

Road-ready Duratek finished. Hand assembled Birch cabinets, the highest quality drivers, and always neodymium when available for the application.

History

In my 30 years as an Audio Engineer I have learned a tremendous amount about acoustics, human perception of sound and much more. But one thing that has stayed with me is the quote above. It means that if you are copying everybody else, you cannot be better. It is that principle I am combining with my decades of live sound, recording, mixing and playing experience to create something new and better that is very close to me, bass cabs.

These cabs are painstakingly designed to sit-in-the-mix beautifully. It is from my years of mixing experience that I ensured these cabs posses a unique tonal character that lets the instrument cut through the mix while not fighting with the kick drum. My spidy-senses tell me they will record exceptionally well and could be just the ticket for solving the bloom and feedback issues of amplifying upright bass.
